Get Strong, Dense Muscles without EVER Moving at All

Intro to Isometrics

Did you know that you can build stronger, more defined muscles without every moving your body 1 inch? Yep, it us absolutely possible and it is 100% scientifically sound.

Often defined as “exercise without motion” or “The attempt to move an immovable object”, isometrics is the act of utilizing muscular force against an object without actually moving it, and the use of your muscles in this way will result in their becoming more dense AND stronger as a result. This is a perfect exercise for someone who doesn’t have much time or equipment but still wants to get the results of increased strength and more visible muscularity. While you don’t need special equipment, there are a few things around your house that can come in handy when looking to perform isometric exercises. Check out the list of exercises below and you will see that you have a complete muscle building gym in your home already!

Shoulder exercises-Simply stand just in front of an open doorway, then press your hands flat on each side. Now PRESS with a strong force and hold that position for 20 seconds. (if you are pushing with maximum intensity you may only need 10- or 15-seconds MAX. This exercise will help to really define your shoulders and will hit your chest and triceps too!

Triceps blaster-stand near a high countertop with your arms bent and elbows close to your sides. Now press your palms flat on the counter and press DOWN with force and then hold that position. This is a fantastic way to hit all the muscles on the back of your upper arm.

Table curls-again, a countertop or heavy table works for this one. Just place your hands underneath the tabletop, palms up, then “curl” upwards. You must use something you cannot lift in order to perform this one…simply pull upwards for 15-20 seconds and REALLY focus on the contraction of the muscle.

These are just a few of the MANY isometric exercises you can perform at home. Use your imagination, come up with your own, and you can get a full body muscle building workout without ever leaving your home OR buying one piece of equipment!
