Amazing Murals in Austin
Murals in Austin have become famous landmarks, and rightly so. Over time simple scrawlings on walls have become essential Austin photo ops with great, collective meaning. When visitors come to Austin, I encourage them to make a tour of all the great murals with barbecue or tacos in hand. It is a great way to get to know the heart of the city and to tour the struggles and encouragements that Austinites use to celebrate or remember.

I Love You So Much Mural
This is easily the most well-known mural in Austin. A simple phrase written in curving red across a pale green background has been the setting for so many photos. From a simple day out to an engagement announcement, this mural has been the background for so many celebrations and commemorations.

Greetings from Austin Mural
If you like your murals like you like your postcards, this is the one for you. Upon visiting Austin, take a photo with this mural and it will serve as evidence that you visited the great city of Austin. You will join the large group of people who have staked their claim to an Austin experience. You are one of us now.

You’re My Butter Half Mural
This may not be one of the most meaningful murals in Austin, but it is too fun to miss. I love butter and I love my people; this mural could not be a better fit.

Mural at the African American Cultural District Building
This is a large mural painted by Ryan Runcie is colorful with the bold diversity of the African diaspora. This mural celebrates the origins of many people and their progression into modern American. I love this mural because it provides a place to celebrate BIPOC culture while embracing the diversity that beckons us all to invest in our communities with the skills and riches that diversity cultivates.

Graffiti Park at Castle Hills
This may not be a mural in the classical sense, but to me this is the outpouring of the souls of many in one central location. Not only is this a cool place to take a picnic, but a walk through the colorful monolithic concrete rises will inspire your creativity and connection to other Austinites.
