Soulful Date Night Ideas in Austin
It not always easy to think of a great date idea. It all depends on the person who you want to take out and the situation that you both are in. But as a general rule if they are fed, dancing and laughing, you can be pretty sure it was a successful date. So here are my ideas for a great date that won’t break the bank.
- Picnic off the beaten path
If you have never planned a picnic, then just remember that to keep this simple. The key is to bring just what you need and rely on the scenic beauty to stimulate conversation and a connection to nature and each other. Make sure to think what all you’ll need to enjoy some light food and drinks. Don’t forget a corkscrew for the wine and some desert.
- Paddle Boarding
I wouldn’t just spring this on your date. It’s more of something you definitely tell her ahead of time, way ahead of time. You don’t want her to get her hair done to late on be told it’s going to get wet. But if she’s into active dates then this would be a great way to brake the ice without spending too much. Find a chill spot to grab some light food afterwards and exchange some sure to be fun conversation.
- Motown Mondays
This is easily personal favorite on the list. Motown Mondays at the Highball is a must if your date likes that era of music and likes to dance. It’s a lively event with live music great bartenders and a dancefloor calling your name. Doesn’t matter your personality type, this isn’t the place to be shy. Get out there, dance and have a good time or else she’ll be sure to come back next week with someone who will.
- Cap City Comedy Club
Everyone likes a good laugh during a date. This allows you to let the professionals do the work and you take the credit by sprinkling some of your own stuff between sets. While not everyone has the same comedy taste, the rule of Thumb is if she’s laughing, your good, if she’s not; then you might as well enjoy the rest of the show because their’s no refunds.
- Skylark Lounge
Voted One of the best Jazz joints in country. If that’s not enough said then you have to really check this out as a date night. No glitz or glamour. Just unadulterated jazz with a generous bar and amazing food out of a small kitchen. The courtyard allows you to step outside from dancing, drums, and saxophones to get to know each other better. No matter what happens with you guys, you won’t regret enjoying their amazing artist line up
